About What Time is It?

A live digital clock that shows the current time where you are, updated every second, with the date alongside it. It reads the time from your own device, so it is always in your local time zone and never needs a location.

It is deliberately plain: big digits, nothing else on the screen. Useful on a second monitor, a spare phone, a projector or when you just want to know what time it is without hunting for the clock in the corner.

If JavaScript is switched off the page still shows the time, using UK time from the server.

How to use it

  1. Open the page. The clock starts straight away.
  2. Leave the tab open to keep a live clock on screen, or add it to your home screen for a one-tap clock.
  3. Need UK time without JavaScript? Add ?nojs to the address.

Questions

Which time zone does the clock use?

Your device's. The clock reads the time from your computer or phone, so it shows the same local time your operating system does.

Is the time accurate?

It is as accurate as your device's clock. Most phones and computers sync their clocks automatically, so it is usually correct to within a second.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded it keeps ticking without a connection, because the time comes from your device, not from the server.
