About Kiss my ASCII

An online ASCII art editor and viewer. Paste any text art, from a one-line emoticon to a full-screen Braille portrait, and it appears in a fixed-width grid so every column lines up the way the artist intended.

Edit the characters directly, switch to paint mode to colour individual cells, pick a text colour, and use the text tools to flip, centre or clean up the art. When it looks right, copy it to the clipboard or download it as a plain text file.

Nothing leaves your browser. The art is never uploaded, and it stays on screen until you clear it.

How to use it

  1. Paste your ASCII art into the editor, or start typing.
  2. Use Paint to colour cells, the colour picker to change the text colour, and Text tools for flips and tidying.
  3. Copy the result or download it as a .txt file.

Questions

Why does my ASCII art look wrong when I paste it elsewhere?

ASCII art only lines up in a monospace font, where every character is the same width. Chat apps and word processors often use proportional fonts, which breaks the alignment. Paste it inside a code block, or send the .txt file instead.

Does it support Unicode and Braille art?

Yes. Anything you can paste is shown in the grid, including Braille patterns, box-drawing characters and emoji, although emoji are wider than one cell in some fonts.

Is my art uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to the server.
