Cunning Budgie is a personal-finance app with exactly one user: me. It pulls my accounts and transactions in from Monzo, keeps a proper history of them in its own database, and gives me a clear picture of where the money goes, without a subscription, a data broker or somebody else's idea of what a budget should look like.
Under the hood it is a plain PHP backend on MariaDB with a native Monzo integration. Accounts and transactions sync automatically, statements can be imported for anything that predates the connection, and everything is deduplicated so the history stays honest. Categorisation and analysis sit on top of that: spending by category, trends over time, and the odd uncomfortable chart.
It runs behind private authentication and is not a product, a service or a template. It is a long-running project that keeps growing whenever something about my finances annoys me enough to build a fix for it.
If you have a terminal handy, the command-line client has a guest mode.
